Wichita Amateur Radio Society was founded around 1968 to support the amateur radio community in and around Wichita Falls, Texas. The primary purpose of WARS is to provide service to the community, state, and country. The Club, in support of our community, provides communication equipment and personnel at several public events during the year. WARS operates two repeaters in Wichita Falls, both with the call N5WF.

Field Day 2018

Members of the Wichita Amateur Radio Society (WARS) will be participating in the national Amateur Radio Field Day exercise, noon Saturday, June 23 to noon Sunday, June 24 at the west side of Gordan Lake in Iowa Park, Texas. Since 1933, ham radio operators across North America have established temporary ham radio stations in public locations during Field Day to showcase the science and skill of Amateur Radio. This event is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend.
